Ableton Live 10 Lite is an updated version of the Live 9 Lite software that was previously included with eligible Novation gear.
they have a fair amount of effects and sounds to add so it will keep me going for a while. We’re very excited to announce that Ableton Live 10 Lite is now available as a free download or upgrade for Novation users. plus the ableton software has explained better the midi side of things and its easier to add them into the project. i was hoping not to use my mixer as my other interface has no phantom power for mic but thats OK as the results are good. good suggestion i will check out the software and see if there is a switch for phantom there but it didn't say anything in the tutorials. there is no switch on the Scarlett for phantom power so i assume they are always on. i did have the switch on the mic to 0 db as it also has the - 10db which is a bit lower but thanks for that. i will continue to try and find out why the original problem is happening, maybe the preamps are not that powerful on the Scarlett. so its even better as its increases the signal again and adds a fuller sound. the other advantage is that i can run a left and right lead from the mixer main output to both 1/4s on the Scarlett inst/mic lines and get stereo sound as opposed to mono. infact i can hear the tap of the keys as im typing in my ear phones now. i know it hasn't solved the reason why the Scarlett has low volume on the mic tracks but it has boosted the signal and volume heeps. i connected my mixer so that the mic is plugged into the preamp on the mixer mic input and then routed the mixer to the Scarlett interface inputs. Thanks for all the replies i appreciate the help. so something is wrong with my current setup to be that low. infact if i turned it up enough you can hear the feedback even singing from a distance it was that sensitive. i use to run the mic through a powered mixer with mic preamps to the interface on my old setup and used cubase and the volume was great.
I thought it might have been the mic or preamps but im pretty sure they are ok. is there somewhere else that needs to be adjusted ive looked everywhere and cant find another control. i know on some other topics ive read they say to add things like compressor or a gain control but you shouldnt have to do this to get decent volume after recording.
i have to increase all the volumes like master and within the track and have the line volume up full on the Scarlett to hear something. when i playback recordings it sounds to low infact i can hardly hear the voice. i know the Scarlett has preamps and the indicator light comes on my mic when activated. I have a focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface and im using a condenser mic for recording voice and acoustic guitar. i know it sounds basic but i have used other daws and don't have this problem so maybe i missed something or not doing something right.
after reading through the tutorials and some of the posts on volume i still cant work out how to increase my volume. Hi there im new to this forum and i just wondered if anyone can help me with a little problem im having with the live lite.
